We have been called to effect change in our community by strengthening and unifying the Family thru the teachings and ministering of Jesus Chris1 Our church is a place where people from all walks of life can come together to worship, learn, and grow. We are a vibrant and diverse congregation, with ministries that cater to the needs of every individual. Whether you are a long-time believer or just starting your spiritual journey, we welcome you with open arms. ABOUT US
Elmwood Community was founded March 17, 1929, by a group of upright Christian men and women who voted to withdraw from the A.M.E. conference, to form their own independent church, under the leadership of Rev. Edward H. Norris. In December of 2024 we were blessed to receive and accept our current Under-Shepperd;
OUR VISION
In short, our Vision is to impact the world in a positive manner by ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Initially, to our direct community in such a way that it touches and strengthens each individual's Mind, Body, Spirit, and most importantly, inspires each one to cultivate their relationship with God!
WHAT WE DO
Elmwood has several ministries that are continually growing. Our approach to positively impacting our community is to ensure that our Ministries within the church fulfill the divine plan that God has for this world. Our Ministries are birthed through the direction of the Holy Spirit to meet the needs of our community!

Just as the members of our congregation come from diverse backgrounds, we recognize that our neighborhood is equally diverse. We encourage all to come and know the life-changing Power of God's Love!
